Look Mom, No Swaddle

As you can see from the previous Hannibal post, Nathan is usually in a swaddle blanket when he sleeps. He recently learned how to flip over so he hasn't been very happy in a swaddle. He has been sleeping so much better without it. I had to take a pic of him when I saw how sweetly he was sleeping.

Mom & Son Hike

We were supposed to be going on a Mom and Son hike with my Mom's Group...except we got lost a couple times and didn't make it there in time. We ended up finding our own path to go on. My friend Danja and her son Mason went with us. The boys loved the adventure and stopped to look at all the new things out in the wilderness-rocks, lizards, butterflies, cactus. While we were hiking, they kept asking when we were going to go on the hike. We kept having to tell them that we were already on the hike. We also asked several different hikers to show us where the trail was that we were looking for. We didn't think it would be a good idea to get lost with 2 toddlers. At the very end of the hike, there was a map of all the trails and Noah and Mason proceeded to stand in front of it and repeat all the things that the other hikers had said to us like "go north" "then go this way" "go that way". It was really funny watching and listening to them.

Pumpkin Carving

We got a pumpkin this past week and carved it with Noah. Noah loved pulling out "the guts". We then took all the seeds and baked them.

Toddler Salad

This is what happens when you leave an almost 3 year old with a cooler full of produce!

We buy fruits and veggies through a co-op http://eastaz.bountifulbaskets.org/. Check it out if you haven't all ready. They are all over the valley, it's really inexpensive and you get lots of yummy produce. Anyway, so we went and picked up our produce on saturday and brought it home. Noah is very much into "helping out" right now so I asked him if he wanted to sort the fruits and veggies for me. i.e. put all the tomatoes in one pile, all the corn in another etc. I showed him what I meant and he said he understood and asked me to "go away". I agreed and told him to let me know when he was finished so we could put them in the fridge together. He said ok. I could see him from my office working very hard. I would ask him if he was done yet and he would say not yet. After about 5 minutes he said, "ok Mommy I am all done, come look!" As I entered the kitchen he said "look I made a salad!" He had taken the lettuce and broke it up into pieces and spread all the veggies randomly throughout. It was so darn cute and creative. I think we may have an Emeril Lugosi on our hands :0)

Shout out to Auntie Jessi & Uncle Kyle

I LOVE LONDON!

Nathaniel turns 4 months old!

Nathaniel turned 4 months old on his Auntie Sherrie's birthday-Oct 18th. He is such a sweet baby and such a gentle soul. Most of the time he is content just sitting around watching people and he hardly ever gets worked up about anything. I can't wait to see what kind of personality he will have as a toddler.

Baby Hannibal

Nathan was all swaddled up nicely sleeping so sweetly in his swing when I came over and snapped a pic of him. It woke him up of course and he didn't even mind. He gave me his sweet little smile. Someone said that he looks like a baby hannibal lector when he is all swaddled up in his car seat. It made me laugh out loud so I wanted to share it. Hey maybe that's what he should be for Halloween! Just teasin'!

Save the Tatas!

We 4 hot mamas participated in the Race for the Cure on Sunday. 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year. Do your part to make a difference. Visit www.komen.org/ to see how you can help make a difference.

Haunted House Contest

I babysat my 6 nieces and nephews and my 2 children on Saturday night. I brought over a rice crispy haunted house kit. The kit made 2 haunted houses so we decided to have a contest. I was on a team with Maren and Cece. Josh, Katie, Peter and Noah were on the other team. Then I had to judge. It was a tie because both turned out so darn cute!

October Fun!

We went to a birthday party at Mother Nature's Farm on Sunday. It was for Noah's cousin Cece and his friend Josh. They both turned 5. Noah had a great time bouncy on the bounce castle and decorating a pumpkin. He especially loved the hay ride.

Go Faster George!!!

Our friend's Sheryl and George have a boat and they invited us to go to the lake the last weekend in September. Noah had such a good time and kept saying "Go faster George!" He loved racing across the water. We had such a great time!

My First Blog!

I just found out today at MOPS how to do a blog! I am so excited to get started as this is an excellent way for me to stay in contact with family. I look forward to my new experiences in the blogging world. I am sure you are going to be seeing lots of pics of the boys and reading lots of funny stories of what they are up to.
